Emirates has successfully put the first fully modernised Boeing 777 into service, taking off to Geneva as flight EK 83 four days earlier than planned.
The aircraft was completely overhauled in Dubai by a team of 175 engineers and technicians in 37 days, with a total of 18,000 working hours being spent. The modernization covers all cabin classes, from Economy Class to the new Premium Economy and Business Class. The aim is to offer passengers a comfortable and luxurious travel experience.
As part of a $3 billion upgrade program, Emirates plans to upgrade over 80 Boeing 777s and 191 aircraft in total. Additional upgraded aircraft are expected to be deployed on routes to Tokyo-Haneda and Brussels in the coming weeks. In the long term, the new cabin equipment will be offered on numerous other international routes.
