With an exciting mix of music, theater, literature and culinary highlights, the Pöggstall Castle Culture Days promise an extraordinary experience for culture enthusiasts again in 2025. Under the artistic direction of Elisabeth Augustin, the festival offers a varied program from April 13th to November 23rd that sets both traditional and innovative accents.
The Pöggstall Castle Cultural Days have been part of the Lower Austrian cultural landscape for nine years. The festival enters its second quarter century with the season and remains true to its claim of making high-quality culture accessible to a broad new audience. “Our program items are like little ‘treats’ for every taste,” explains Augustin.
The opening program “Castle Talks – CVs, Sounds of Life” (April 13) promises a stimulating start with prominent guests such as the figure skating legend Ingrid Wendl and the musician Milan Turković. Accompanied by singer Nataša Mirković, the event combines personal life stories with musical accents.
Highlights of the Culture Days 2025
The highlight is the Pöggstaller Punch and Judy show (May 9th and 10th). With the new play “Kasperl and the Treasure in Weitenbach”, Stefan Weißenbäck, together with Gabriele Schuchter and Stephan Paryla-Raky, provides the best entertainment for young and old.
Fans of classical music can look forward to “Bella Voce: Think of Strauss”. On July 5th in the Church of St. Anna im Felde, Adrian Eröd, Monica Theiss-Eröd and Ilia Staple with the United Europe Orchestra will dedicate themselves to the annual regent Johann Strauss.
For lovers of modern interpretations, “Swing & Sing – Fields of Gold” offers a multifaceted repertoire from Monika Ballwein and her band on September 6th. The Hugo Wolf Quartet is just as exciting on August 9th with the program “Bon Soir Ravel”, which takes a musical journey from Maurice Ravel to late romanticism.
The literary-culinary format “Autumn Leaves” (October 11) combines contemporary literature, choral singing and a specially composed menu by KochArt by Gerlinde Nepp. “Eat, drink, listen” is the motto that appeals to all the senses.
Culinary delights and Advent magic
The finale is the Café Days Culture Days in November. At “In a small pastry shop” visitors can enjoy delicious pastry variations, while musical surprises create a festive Advent atmosphere.
Pöggstall Castle, an impressive historical setting, forms the ideal setting for the varied program. The opportunity to view the Traunfellner documentation in the castle an hour before each event further enriches the experience.
With great attention to detail, a unique combination of art and enjoyment and prominent guests, the Pöggstall Castle Cultural Days 2025 offer a cultural highlight that radiates far beyond the region.
