The low-cost airline Wizz Air is expanding its route network from Stuttgart. From December 16, 2024, the airline will offer direct flights to the Bulgarian capital Sofia three times a week.
With this new connection, Wizz Air increases the number of routes served from Stuttgart to five, which already include destinations such as Tirana, Budapest, Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca. The new flights to Sofia will be offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and are intended to offer not only holiday travelers but also business travelers and commuters from southern Germany a quick connection to Bulgaria.
Wizz Air also serves as a connection to Sofia from other German airports such as Dortmund, Frankfurt Hahn, Hamburg and Memmingen. The capital of Bulgaria with its around 1.1 million inhabitants is increasingly perceived as an insider tourist tip.
