aviation: Flair Airlines is said to have not paid import duties for Boeing 737-Max

The Canadian low-cost airline Flair Airlines has problems with the tax office: According to local reports, the carrier is said to be in debt to the Canada Revenue Agency in import duties amounting to 67.2 million US dollars. A seizure order has now been obtained in court.

There are 20 Boeing 737-Max aircraft for which Flair Airlines is said to have not paid import duties. The tax office has now gone to court to seize properties owned by Flair Airlines.

Stephen Jones, managing director of Flair Airlines, explained that they had already agreed on payment in installments with the Canadian tax office and therefore the court order would have no impact on ongoing business operations.
