With a special flight from Seoul/Incheon to Istanbul, Korean Air transported relief supplies for the earthquake victims to Turkey on Monday, March 20th.

The Boeing 777 freighter had a total of 45 tons of material on board, including tents, sleeping bags and blankets. These are distributed to the people affected by the earthquakes via the Turkish Authority for Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD).

The special flight was organized in cooperation with the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). In February, Korean Air’s holding company, Hanjin KAL, had already donated US$500,000 to Turkey’s earthquake relief effort, earmarked for local relief efforts and damage assessment.
