From the Austrian airports that Mann has in its route network, the low-cost airline Ryanair accumulated the most passengers in the direction of London-Stansted, Palma de Mallorca and Milan (Malpensa and Bergamo) in 2023. A direct comparison with Germany reveals deviations.
According to its own information, the low-cost airline has carried out around a million flights across its entire route network in the coming year of 2023. This consists of around 230 travel destinations located in 37 states. From Austria, the routes to/from London-Stansted, Palma de Mallorca and Milan were heavily radio-controlled. In the latter metropolis, the carrier heads to both Malpensa and Bergamo from Vienna.
The direct comparison with the most popular destinations from Germany according to Ryanair is interesting. In 2023, the low-cost airlines will have radios for many passengers on the routes to/from Palma de Mallorca. This comes as no surprise, as the Balearic island is considered a popular holiday destination for Germans.
The destination London-Stansted is in second place. However, Milan is not in the top three. Third place from Germany is occupied by the Irish capital Dublin, which is also the home base of Ryanair DAC. So these travel preferences of Germans and Austrians will differ slightly in 2023 – at least for the low-cost airline Ryanair.
