Münster/Osnabrück Airport can look forward to the relocation of a company specializing in painting work. This has started its activities in Hangar 5 and can fit machines up to the Airbus A321/Boeing 737 size class with new liveries.
APS Altitude Paint Services, a paint shop specializing in aircraft, is now active on a hangar area of around 2,000 square meters at Münster/Osnabrück Airport. All services are offered that are also offered by competing paint shops operating at other airports. This includes, for example, the removal of the old livery, the application of a new primer and the colors that the client wants.
New technologies, such as aerodynamic and fuel-efficient surfaces for aircraft, are also used. APS invested more than one million euros in the conversion of the hangar and created 15 highly qualified jobs at the FMO location. This makes Münster/Osnabrück Airport the location of the only independent aircraft paint shop in Germany.
So far, due to a lack of operations of this type abroad, aircraft have primarily been flown to Asia for painting. A paint job takes about a week from when the aircraft arrives in the old colors to when it takes off in the new colors. APS was founded in 2015 and, in addition to the FMO, has another location in Montpellier, France. Customers include numerous international leasing companies and airlines.
