aviation: Dr. Richard converts coaches to HVO-100

The Dr. Richard Group has announced that in the future the coaches stationed in Vienna and Salzburg will be operated with the diesel replacement fuel HVO-100. This is said to cause fewer carbon dioxide emissions compared to conventional diesel.

Managing director Ludwig Richard says: “Compared to other means of road transport, coaches are very climate-friendly.” Especially when it comes to private transport, the bus is one of the most climate-friendly means of road transport.”

While on the lines of Dr. Richard Group has seen more and more electric buses and biogas buses on the road, switching to alternative drive options in the coach sector has proven to be more challenging. “Tour buses have to cover long distances, which is unfortunately often difficult to reconcile with alternative forms of drive.” “We are all the more pleased to have now found a more sustainable solution with HVO-100,” explains Philipp Zechner, Managing Director of Dr. Richard coach division. The coaches stationed in Vienna and Salzburg will initially be affected by the change.
